A father and daughter enjoy a creative pottery class together, as they shape clay with focused concentration and joyful teamwork in a studio filled with artistic supplies.

🏺 Pottery Handbuilding Class (All Ages)

This one‑day introductory handbuilding pottery class is perfect for anyone looking to explore clay without using the pottery wheel. Whether you’re brand new to ceramics or just want a relaxed, creative experience, this workshop offers a fun, hands‑on introduction to core handbuilding techniques.

Students will learn how to pinch, coil, and slab‑build to bring their ideas to life. With guidance from a professional ceramic instructor, participants will explore both functional and decorative forms while developing confidence working with clay.

✨ What You’ll Make

You’ll have the opportunity to handbuild up to three clay pieces, such as:

  • ☕ Mugs or cups

  • 🌿 Planters or trays

  • 🕯 Luminaries or lanterns

  • 🐉 Sculptural or imaginative forms

We’ll also cover surface texture techniques, tool use, and ways to shape and alter forms to give your work personality and character.

Expect a supportive, creative environment with plenty of guidance and encouragement throughout the class.

💸 Class Cost

  • $70 per adult (+$15 clay fee - $85 total)

  • $50 per youth (+ $15 clay fee - $65 total)

Includes 3 lbs of clay per person, all tools, studio glazes, and kiln firing for up to 3 finished pieces per participant.

🔥 After Class

Finished pieces will be glazed and kiln‑fired in our studio and ready for pickup in 4–6 weeks. We’ll notify you by email and text when everything is ready.
