Painting Towns & Cities (8 Wednesdays in January - February)

A vibrant, impressionistic cityscape captures a bustling crowd against the backdrop of towering skyscrapers bathed in warm, sunset hues.

Join us for a vibrant artistic journey around the world in this refreshed version of Erin Gillespie’s popular urbanscape painting class. Over eight weeks, we’ll explore the unique visual language, architecture, and cultural essence of a different city or town every two weeks. From the bustling markets of Morocco to the colorful streets of Mexico, and the intricate urban textures of India, each destination will inspire a new painting project.

Students will work from curated photo references to create their own interpretations of these global urbanscapes, learning how to capture mood, atmosphere, and local character through composition, color, and brushwork. Erin will guide students through techniques tailored to each location’s aesthetic, offering demonstrations, personalized feedback, and group discussions.

This class is perfect for all skill levels and painting mediums, so whether you're a seasoned painter or just starting out, you'll feel right at home.
