Learn to sew buttons, buttonholes, and patch small tears & holes

🎨 What You'll Learn
This workshop series is designed for adults (18+) who want to gain practical skills in basic clothing alterations. Whether you're a thrift store enthusiast, a vintage fashion lover, or simply someone who wants their clothes to fit better, this class will give you the tools to confidently modify garments at home.
Attend one workshop to acquire a key alterations skill, or attend all to be able to complete the most common alternations. While we will not be sewing actual clothing items, we will demo techniques on scrap fabric. However, if you do have items that align with that workshop session’s theme, you are welcome to bring them!
Each week focuses on a different sewing skill — join just one or take them all, it’s up to you! In this series you’ll learn how to:
Workshop 1 (November 5th, 2025): Sew buttons and buttonholes, and patch holes
Workshop 2: Hem pant legs, dresses, skirts, and sleeves
Workshop 3: Take in elastic and non-elastic waists
Workshop 4: Change design elements and learn the do’s and don’ts of choosing clothes to alter
