🎨 What You’ll Learn

This wheel‑focused pottery series is designed for students who already have prior wheel experience and want dedicated time to build skill, consistency, and confidence on the pottery wheel. The pace of this class assumes you are comfortable working independently on the wheel, with personalized guidance and refinement each week.

Over the course of six sessions, you’ll learn:

  • Centering clay and developing consistent forms

  • Wheel throwing for bowls, mugs, tumblers, and cylinders

  • Trimming and refining wheel‑thrown pieces

  • Surface design techniques suited specifically for wheel work

  • Glazing and finishing your completed pottery

Important: This series does NOT focus on handbuilding and does NOT cover wheel basics or learning to center from scratch. Due to the pace and structure of the course, students without prior wheel experience will fall behind and may not have a successful experience.

To enroll, students must already be able to throw and center clay, or have previously completed one of our 4–6 week Intro to Clay series.

🏺 What You Can Make

Throughout the series, students will create a variety of wheel‑thrown functional pottery, such as:

  • Bowls, mugs, and tumblers

  • Cylinders and basic vessels

  • Small vases and planters

  • Additional wheel‑thrown forms based on personal goals

Students are encouraged to explore their own ideas while building strong foundational wheel skills.
