Painting On Black Canvases (8 Wednesdays in March - April)
Step outside the traditional white canvas and discover the bold, dramatic world of painting on black.
In this newly requested course, students will explore the unique techniques needed to create successful paintings on black canvases. Working on a dark surface changes everything — color behaves differently, highlights become more powerful, and contrast takes center stage. You’ll learn how to build light, create depth, and make colors glow against a rich black background.

Creating Mexican Retablos (8 Thursdays in March - April)
In this vibrant and meaningful course, students will explore the beautiful tradition of Mexican retablos. Retablos are small, devotional paintings traditionally created to honor saints and express gratitude for miracles. Often painted on tin and adorned with decorative metal milagros, flowers, symbols, and heartfelt inscriptions, these works were displayed in churches and home altars as deeply personal expressions of faith, memory, and storytelling.

Urban Sketching (8 Thursdays in March - April)
In this challenging and popular class, students will study the work of a rotating selection of lesser known master artists and create original pieces inspired by each artist’s unique style. Through close visual study and discussion, we will explore what defines each master’s approach, including their use of composition, color, technique, and subject matter.

Teen Pottery Wheel- [March 29th]
Teen ceramics class in Colorado Springs for ages 12–17! This monthly pottery class introduces teens to wheel throwing and hand-building in a creative studio environment.
