Celebrating Amanda's Victory in Plein Air Painting!

Hello, art lovers! 🎨

We are thrilled to share some exciting news. Our very own Amanda, who is not only our talented studio manager but also an incredible teacher of clay, painting, and drawing to our youth students, has recently achieved a remarkable victory. Amanda participated in a plein air painting event right here in Colorado Springs and won first place in her category! 🏆

What is Plein Air Painting?

For those who might not be familiar, plein air painting is a practice that involves painting outdoors, capturing the beauty and essence of the natural landscape in real-time. The term "plein air" comes from the French phrase "en plein air," which means "in the open air." This style of painting allows artists to immerse themselves in their surroundings, creating vibrant and dynamic works that reflect the changing light and atmosphere of the outdoors.

Amanda wears many hats at Pikes Peak Artist Collective. As our studio manager, she ensures everything runs smoothly, and as a teacher, she inspires and nurtures the creativity of our young artists. Her classes in clay, painting, and drawing are always filled with enthusiasm and creativity, making her a beloved figure in our community.

Amanda's dedication to her craft and her ability to capture the stunning landscapes of Colorado Springs truly shone through in her winning piece. Her talent and hard work have not only brought her personal recognition but have also made us incredibly proud to have her as a key member of our team.

Amanda's advice to new or aspiring artists is simple yet profound: "Keep practicing! You can't make a good painting without making a lot of bad paintings first." This wisdom is a reminder that every artist's path is filled with learning experiences that shape their growth and skill.

We are so proud of Amanda and can't wait to see what she creates next!

Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to check out Amanda's winning piece on display at our studio. Let's continue to support and celebrate the amazing artists in our community!

Sincerely,

The Pikes Peak Artist Collective Team
