🎨 What You'll Learn
This Intermediate Wheel Throwing course is designed for students who already have some pottery experience and want to expand their skills. Over six weeks, you’ll build on foundational techniques and explore more complex forms, with personalized instruction and guided practice. Each week focuses on a specific skill area:
Class One: Throwing taller, refining cylinders, and shaping pots (collaring, using ribs, etc.)
Class Two: Trimming and handle intensive — demos for coil, slab, and pulled handles, plus discussion of burnishing and slip decoration
Class Three: Creating enclosed forms and lidded jars
Class Four: Trimming jars/lids and troubleshooting problem areas
Class Five: Chip-and-dip set or plates demo, plus individual project help
Class Six: Glaze application intensive
🏺 What You Can Make
Throughout the series, students will create a variety of refined and functional pieces, such as:
Taller cylinders and vessels
Lidded jars
Plates or chip-and-dip sets
Handled mugs or pitchers
Personal projects with guided support
Each student is encouraged to pursue their own ideas while practicing new techniques.

Time: Sundays, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: PPAC Clay Studio📍 2708 W Colorado Ave, Suite C, Colorado Springs, CO 80904
Ages: Adults (18+)
Prerequisite: Some prior wheel-throwing experience is required.
