🎨 What You'll Learn

This Intermediate Wheel Throwing course is designed for students who already have some pottery experience and want to expand their skills. Over six weeks, you’ll build on foundational techniques and explore more complex forms, with personalized instruction and guided practice. Each week focuses on a specific skill area:

  • Class One: Throwing taller, refining cylinders, and shaping pots (collaring, using ribs, etc.)

  • Class Two: Trimming and handle intensive — demos for coil, slab, and pulled handles, plus discussion of burnishing and slip decoration

  • Class Three: Creating enclosed forms and lidded jars

  • Class Four: Trimming jars/lids and troubleshooting problem areas

  • Class Five: Chip-and-dip set or plates demo, plus individual project help

  • Class Six: Glaze application intensive

🏺 What You Can Make

Throughout the series, students will create a variety of refined and functional pieces, such as:

  • Taller cylinders and vessels
