🌀 Try the Wheel: 1-Hour Pottery Class for Beginners
Introductory Pottery Class in Colorado Springs

Curious about pottery but not ready to dive into a full series? Our Try the Wheel class is a one-hour beginner pottery class in Colorado Springs where you can get a feel for the pottery wheel in a relaxed, supportive environment. Perfect for all ages (yes, adults too!), this quick intro is designed to be fun, accessible, and creatively satisfying.
🎯 What to Expect:
In this one-hour hands-on session, you’ll:
Learn how to center clay and shape a basic form on the pottery wheel
Receive step-by-step guidance from a friendly instructor
Get messy, experiment, and try your hand at wheel throwing
Create up to 3 small pieces per person to keep, paint, and bring home after firing
You’ll be surprised what you can make in just an hour! Common beginner-friendly projects include:
🥣 Small bowls
🌱 Tiny planters
☕ Cups or tumblers
🧈 Butter dishes or ring trays

Date: Saturday, January 3rd, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: PPAC – OCC Studio - 2708 W Colorado Ave STE C, Colorado Springs, CO 80904
Price: $45 + $10 materials fee(includes clay, use of tools, and glazing/firing of up to 3 items per person)
Ages: All ages welcome (Students 16 and under must attend with an adult. Parents are welcome to participate too!)
🔥 Pottery Pickup:
After class, we’ll glaze and fire your favorite pieces for you! Each student can choose up to 3 pieces to keep. Finished pottery will be ready for pickup in 4–6 weeks - we’ll send you an email when it’s ready.
✨ Refund Policy
Refunds are available up to (7) seven days before the class. Credits for future classes are available up to (3) three days before the class. You can cancel through your online Amilia account or email us for help.
