About the Course

Painting Contemporary Still-Lifes

🎨 About the Course Explore the art of still-life painting with a fresh, contemporary twist! Led by instructor Erin Gillespie, students discover the work of a different still-life artist each week, exploring their styles, techniques and creative approaches to everyday objects.

💡 What You'll Learn & Experience Each week Erin introduces a different contemporary still-life artist and what makes their work unique. You'll experiment with composition, color, texture and technique, with demonstrations and personalized feedback in a relaxed, supportive environment.

🏺 What You'll Make & Create Each week you'll create your own original still-life painting inspired by that week's artist, from colorful arrangements and bold shapes to expressive brushwork and modern interpretations. Reference photographs are provided.

📍 Studio Location & Details

  • Ages: Adults 18+ (All skill levels welcome)

  • Dates: Wednesdays, December 2, 9, 16 and 30 (no class December 23)

  • Time: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM

  • Duration: 4-week series, 2 hours per class

  • Mediums: Open to all painting mediums (bring your own supplies; reference photographs provided)

  • Class size: 5 to 16 students

💳 Tuition & Investment

  • Total: $240 for 4 weeks

📋 Refund Policy

Cancel online at least 7 days before your class for a full refund. Cancellations made 3 to 6 days before class receive studio credit toward any future offering. Cancellations inside the 3-day window and no-shows are not eligible for refunds or credit.
